Prominent Chinese Orthopedic Medical Expert Tian Wei Investigated

Chinese Academy of Engineering academician and former president of Jishuitan Hospital, Tian Wei, was taken away for investigation around March 12, 2024, on suspicion of corruption. Multiple sources in the medical industry told Economic Observer reporters that Tian Wei holds immense influence in the orthopedic field and is one of the most renowned experts in this specialized discipline.

Before the Spring Festival, disciplinary inspection and supervision departments had assessed whether to take Tian Wei in for investigation, and "ultimately decided to arrest him." The source stated that Tian Wei's investigation is a "landmark case" in China's medical anti-corruption efforts.

Under the leadership of this prominent academician, a series of "Orthopedic Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines" with Chinese characteristics were formulated, forming an industrial chain that evidently and significantly increased the volume of orthopedic surgeries in China, sending more ordinary people to the operating table. If not for this, how could he have amassed his 300-400 million? How could the collective billions have been generated?

In 1997, after returning from studying abroad, the prominent academician established the spine department. Rising from department head to hospital president, he embarked on a 20-year "glorious endeavor" of vigorously promoting various spinal surgeries, ultimately elevating himself to the position of academician in 2019.

For example, under his leadership, they spent a full seven years meticulously altering the "2013 Lumbar Disc Herniation Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines" from the world-renowned authority, the North American Spine Society. In the "Guidelines" with Chinese characteristics released in 2020, they significantly exaggerated the dangers of lumbar disc herniation and noticeably broadened the indications for surgery. Consequently, some spinal conditions that previously did not require surgery before the 1990s became deemed necessary for surgery, with claims that "not undergoing surgery could lead to paralysis." Countless Chinese citizens were thus sent to the operating table.

Why do I despise such people so much? In 2014, I was almost deceived by these Western medicine practitioners too, damn it! Beasts who treat human life as worthless!
